Acupuncture originates from China and has been practiced there for thousands of years. The World Health Organisation recognises acupuncture as an effective form of health care.
How does Acupuncture work?
When we are feeling ill or in pain, or if the body is not functioning as it should, Chinese medicine considers the body’s systems to be out of balance. Good health requires good circulation. Acupuncture relieves pain and illness, and restores normal function, by bringing the body back into balance and restoring circulation of blood, energy, and body fluids. An acupuncturist chooses specific points on the body to restore this circulation.
